Boys Rugby in 2023 at Gordon
Each year, boys are drawn from the eight Village Clubs of the Gordon District compete in age specific trials for the honour of representing the ‘Gordon Highlanders and/or Tartans’ at the NSW Junior State Championships. This long held tradition dates back to our foundation in 1927 when boys from Sydney’s North Shore began playing in the Metropolitan Junior Competition. From these humble beginnings, a pathway was created which still links the Gordon Rugby Football Club with today's Gordon Junior Rugby Club (GJRU).

We encourage you to trial and to continue this long held tradition. Many Gordon players have earned representative honours playing for state and Australia – far too many to list here. One young Gordon Junior/Colt/Grade player was a boy named Stirling Mortlock who ended up playing 80 Tests for the Wallabies and captained them on 29 occasions to boot!
