Gordon Junior Rugby TAS Touring Squad 2016

Gordon Junior Rugby is excited to be taking two teams to ‘The Armidale School Rugby Carnival’ (TASRC) on the weekend of 9/10 April 2016.

The boys selected to tour are at primary school and come from across our eight village clubs. This is the first time many of the boys have had the opportunity to go on a rugby tour, so they are all very excited and have been training hard for the past month together.

The Armidale School Rugby Carnival is the largest primary-aged rugby carnival held in Australia. Each year the event attracts more than 1000 young rugby enthusiasts, their coaches, families and supporters from Queensland and NSW. The focus of the carnival is on sportsmanship, and the highly coveted BLK Team of the Carnival award is presented each year to the team displaying outstanding performance and sportsmanship on an off the field.

Tour Plans

Tuesday 5^th April 4.00pm – Trial game against Pius, Family Barbecue, Jersey presentation, Beauchamp Oval, Chatswood

Friday 8th April 6.30am – Boys will travel by bus to Armidale arrive around lunchtime, trial game in the afternoon

Saturday 8th/Sunday 9th – teams will play five games, played over two days

Sunday 1.00pm – Boys will depart Armidale return to Sydney

Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to chaperone the boys on tour. The boys will be staying in TAS arranged facilities and all meals will be looked after. Parents wishing to attend the carnival will need to arrange their own accommodation.
